Hungary is a country where a statue of Satoshi Nakamoto was recently dedicated and where it is proposed to reduce taxes on capital gains on cryptocurrencies for 2022. I don't like to be in politics but sometimes the comparison comes by itself. You will agree that an orange symbol with a large "B" right in the middle of Budapest does not go unnoticed and if even one of the passers-by gets curious and approaches the Crypto sector it would certainly be a positive thing. Despite this, I wanted to leave a review on Google Maps which was more a praise to the courage of those who opened this bar, to thank him for having done his part towards mass-adoption. However, it must be said that (as a good hodler) I probably would not have spent BTC to pay, but I would have used FIAT currency, as I cannot think of spending something that I have laboriously accumulated.
Unfortunately, my itinerary did not include stops and therefore I could not spend some Satoshi for a coffee.
It was the first time I had seen a business carry such an explicit reference to cryptocurrencies. I couldn't help but stop and enter for a minute, driven by curiosity. Wandering through the streets of the center on a hot August day, near the Great Synagogue, I came across this bar, whose name is " Bitcoin Bar". I am in fact a Local Guide on Google Maps and I like to write about the places I visit, giving concrete help to those who will visit them after me and sharing details and opinions. I had never believed it possible or even imagined that the two could unite, but in the end it happened. In particular, I liked being able to combine two of my passions: writing reviews on Google Maps and Bitcoin. In Italy, my country, we are not used to these things and when in Hungary I saw ATMs that allow you to buy BTC or even bars and shops with signs bearing the symbol, I was very pleased. On its streets I have found references to Bitcoin several times and this surprised me a lot.
For 20 years, when I was there for the first time, the city has made great strides, becoming an extremely livable and smart capital. Budapest is a fantastic city, located on the banks of the Danube, with the Buda hills in the background and an architectural heritage of Baroque and Neoclassical masterpieces. I am writing this post because I recently traveled to Budapest, Hungary.
